Seven Nigerian army personnel die in aircraft crash, World Information

Seven individuals on board a army plane died in a crash Sunday close to Nigeria’s capital Abuja, the nation’s airforce spokesman mentioned. 

The reason for the accident remains to be unknown however officers mentioned the pilot had reported an engine failure.

“A Nigerian Air Power (NAF) Beechcraft KingAir B350i plane crashed whereas returning to the Abuja Airport after reporting engine failure,” spokesman Ibikunle Daramola mentioned in an announcement.

“Sadly, all 7 personnel on board died within the crash,” he added. 

Video posted to social media confirmed water cannon getting used to extinguish the flames on the scene, whereas a lot of onlookers crowded round.

The airforce mentioned an investigation into the accident was underway.

Nigeria’s minister of aviation Sirika Hadi additionally confirmed the accident.

“We must always stay calm & look ahead to the result of investigation by the army,” Hadi mentioned in a Tweet.

The aircraft was heading to Minna, the capital of close by Niger state.
